Originally a federation replica-style home built in 1992, it was overdue for refurbishment and sprucing up. Fast forward to 25 years later and Eric and Kris – the Home Owners – noticed that a lot of things were looking dated and tired and the TO DO list seemed to be growing all the time! The carpet needed replacing, the entire home need repainting – inside and out – the kitchen was falling apart, the laundry was old and lacked cupboard space. They had enjoyed their alfresco area, but it was looking dated and tired.

COMFORTABLE LIVING IN RETIREMENT

With Kris and Eric set to enjoy their retirement years, they decided a full home makeover with an interior renovation and a home exterior makeover was in order. They wanted to be able to enjoy their home in both comfort and style during retirement.

Top-to-toe Renovation

We set to work ripping out everything that was old, and prepared the home as a clean slate for Top to Toe complete home makeover. The original kitchen design had a u-shape counter bench which made the kitchen feel disconnected and separate to the lounge and dining areas. There was large pantry in a dark corner of the kitchen that was poorly designed and took up a lot of unnecessary space. The entire kitchen was starting to show signs of its age, the bench space was narrow and cluttered, and the beige and brown colours were straight from the 90’s.

New Hampton’s Kitchen

The entire kitchen was redesigned and remodeled and a new Hampton’s inspired kitchen was installed. The results speak for themselves. The kitchen is the heart of the home and the new kitchen has completely opened up the living area. The open plan living areas of the lounge, kitchen and dining now feel light and breezy and just ooze class and style. A simply stunning result.

Spruced up bathrooms and a completely new Laundry

We renovated the bathrooms and installed a completely new laundry with overhead cupboards and stacks more space.

Restored flooring

The home already had parquetry flooring throughout the entrance and open living areas. We stripped this back, repaired the holes left from the old kitchen, and brought it back to life looking better than before.

The bedrooms had the original carpet with underlay that had all but given up. It almost felt like you were walking on the concrete pad. We ripped all of this out and laid beautiful new carpets and it now feels like walking on clouds in comparison to the old carpet.

Window Treatments, Painting and a little magic from our Interior Designer

Old window treatments were ditched and new window treatments were installed throughout. This created a stunning effect with beautiful white plantation shutters creating a gorgeous ‘Hamptonesque’ (Kris’s word!) feel to the home. Long drop curtains were installed in the living area which created a luxurious, private and cosy feel to the lounge. The entire interior of the home was painted to spruce it up and modernise the colour scheme. Our Interior Designer assisted Kris with colour selections and helped tie it all together.

External Renovation

Externally the home got a makeover too. The entrance to the home out the front and the alfresco area out the back had the old pavers pulled up, and Terrastone poured exposed aggregate, new ceiling lining and repainting. The front door was repainted and a new water feature was installed at the home entrance.

New Lighting Fixtures

All of the light fittings both inside and outside of the home were replaced. The pendant lights in the dining room and above the Kitchen Island are particularly striking and in keeping with the Hamptons styling in the renovated home.

Garden Freshen Up to add the finishing touch

The garden areas were landscaped and refreshed, completing the home makeover and giving it a new lease on life that will provide enjoyment for Eric and Kris for many years to come.
