BREATHING NEW LIFE INTO AN ARCHITECTURAL 1960'S HOME

THE END RESULT IS A MORE SPACIOUS HOME WITH A CONTEMPORARY EDGE.

SECOND STOREY ADDITION AND MAJOR HOME RENOVATION TO 1960'S HOME INCLUDING A NEW FLOOR-PLAN TO CONNECT TWO BUILDINGS TOGETHER!

This is the most unique 2nd-floor addition and renovation project undertaken by Amerex so far! It was also very rewarding with a great result. Originally it was two separate buildings built circa 1960s, with the single-storey building acting as a Doctor’s consulting room. The existing two-storey building was his residence, linked via a courtyard.

Now owned by a young family, this project linked the two buildings with a new Kitchen and Dining area in place of the old courtyard to bring the two buildings together.

The shell of the two buildings was retained, though completely re-gutted. The entire interior and exterior of these two buildings were overhauled, with a new section built between to link them.

This huge 2nd-floor addition and renovation included a New Kitchen, Dining, Living, three new Bathrooms, Laundry, and a complete Renovation of every room, Deck, Complete exterior facelift with new fascia, windows & acrylic render, all new windows and doors, new fascia, and new external screen walls & planter boxes.

The end result is a clean, contemporary home that has kept the lines of the original home, with an ultra-modern edge.

Excerpts from a newspaper article:

The owners worked with Amerex Renovations and Addition to make sure the transition from old to new was seamless. The original home included five poky bedrooms and one bathroom and now has three big bedrooms all with storage, three bathrooms, and lots of extra living space.

Mrs Zeid said that fencing the front year on the southern side of the home had given them an extra 120sqm of private outdoor space, and a retractable awning in the “grown-ups” area was well worth the investment, allowing them to manipulate the amount of sun that comes indoors throughout the seasons.
