SELECTING A BUILDER WITH EXPERIENCE IN RENOVATING CHARACTER HOMES

Having renovated with a large building company last time, the owners wanted their build to be a more personal experience this time. They wanted a Builder that understood the charm of character homes. They discovered Amerex by spotting our building sign out the front of a nearby home and got in touch.

THE BRIEF FOR THE HOUSE RENOVATION

Grant and Suzanne wanted to replace the kitchen and create a more spacious dining and living area. They wanted to install a Pool at some time in the future and provided a brief for a Pool Room that could also double as a retreat, studio or games room in the meantime.

EXTENSION TO RENOVATION TO THE CHARACTER HOME

Amerex designed and built a house extension that included a stunning new kitchen with a large island bench made from smartstone, stylish blue glass splash-back and stacks of storage within the kitchen and on the adjacent wall, and a floor to ceiling pantry. The house was extended at the rear meaning the roofline was extended too and we matched the existing Custom orb on the roof.

MATCHING THE HERITAGE FEATURES

Throughout the newly extended part of the home, high ceilings were carried thru as were the quality jarrah floorboards to match the existing. New custom-built timber windows were installed in the kitchen and living area, and double-hung timber windows to the dining area. Heritage style skirting and architraves were made to match the existing.

THE POOL ROOM CAN DOUBLE AS A STUDIO, GAMES ROOM, RETREAT OR JUST A MAN-CAVE

The Pool Room – studio, games room, retreat or man-cave! – was built from scratch and features bi-fold doors that can be opened all the way up, completely opening up the space. Louvres were also installed to allow natural breeze to flow through.
